Weekend football updates

LYONS --- The Bearcats dismantled Lyons 41-6 Friday, eliminating the Lions from the district 15 3A race. Top-ranked Hoisington clinched the district title with a win over Larned.

DOWNS --- The injury-laden Wilson Dragons put one in the “W” column with a 66-40 over the Lakeside Knights, keeping their 8-man Division II, District 5 playoff hope alive by mathematics.

CLAFLIN --- It took the fifth-ranked 8-man Division I O-men exactly 16 seconds to grab the momentum and run away with a 58-0 two quarter District 5 game over St. John-Hudson in Claflin. The Oilers clinched the District Championship with the win.
