For decades, rumors of ghosts have haunted the old, brick hospital that greets visitors to Ellsworth from Kansas Highway 156. “I’ve had patients and people from the old hospital say they saw/experienced things they couldn’t explain,” said Ellsworth County Medical Center’s Dr. Ronald Whitmer, who practiced there for 14 years.
