Glenn H. Breford (1932-2006)

Glenn H. Breford, 84, passed away Nov. 12, 2016 at Ellinwood District Hospital in Ellinwood, Kan.
He was born Aug. 11, 1932 in Wilson, Kan. to Herman John and Marie (Pfieffer) Breford. Glenn graduated from Holyrood High School in 1950 and later joined the U.S. Army where he served his country from 1953-1955. He married Joan Stumps and together they had four children. He later married Anna Maria Erdman on Sept. 18, 1982 in Ellinwood. She passed away June 21, 2010. Glenn was an Ellinwood resident since 1981. He formerly lived in the Holyrood area where he was the owner of Breford & Sons Construction Company. His memberships included St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the local American Legion.
Survivors include son, Mark Breford (Terri), Holyrood; sister, Marilyn Kaiser, Claflin; and step-grandsons, Kenny Stroede (Lauren), Great Bend and Jason Stroede (Kim), Holyrood.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Anna (Erdman) Breford.  
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. today (Thursday Nov. 17) at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ellinwood with Father Terrance Klein presiding. Burial will follow at Lakin-Comanche Cemetery in Ellinwood.
Visitation was from 1 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood with family present from 5-6 p.m. with the Rosary/Vigil service starting that evening at 7 p.m. at the church.
