A season of joy and depression

Four years ago, at age 16, Luke Maxwell got into the family van and driving 60 miles an hour without a seat belt, collided head-on with another vehicle. It was Dec. 3, 2012 and Maxwell wanted to die. “I thought I was alone. That’s what I believed,” Maxwell said. “Over time, it gets worse and worse.”
