Lady ‘Cats take third

RUSSELL — The Ellsworth Lady Bearcat basketball team got a big boost by placing third Saturday at the Amos-Morris George Stephens basketball tournament with a 45-24 win over 4A Division II Nickerson in Russell. The Lady ‘Cats jumped to a 12-7 lead by the end of the first quarter and only allowed the Lady Panthers to score three points in the second while putting 10 through the rim for a 22-7 halftime lead.
