ELLSWORTH — The Ellsworth Bearcats treated basketball fans to a barn burner as they came back from a 20-point deficit to defeat Republic County, 66-59 in overtime at the Bearcat Lair in Ellsworth.

The Lady ‘Cats also got a big win, besting the Lady Buffaloes by a score of 45-31. Ellsworth’s Kolby Davis racked up 37 points in the win.

CLAFLIN — The undefeated, three-time defending champion 2A Central Plains Lady Oilers beat the Lady Mustangs 71-18 at the Oilerdome in Claflin.

The Oilers defeated a good Mustang team 58-54 in the boys’ game.

WILSON — The Lady Dragons fought hard, but ninth-ranked 1A Division II Southern Cloud took over the game in the third quarter to get a 53-38 win in Wilson. The Lady Warriors are an outstanding basketball team this season and have improved since the winter break.

The Wilson Dragons dominated a young Southern Cloud squad from the opening tip-off and romped to a 52-38 win in the boys’ game.

The Dragons also looked vastly improved from the start of the season and play a good brand of unselfish team basketball.
