Lawmakers search for plan

The second week of the legislative session went quickly. It seems as if we have been working in Topeka for some time already! The appropriations committee explored the alternatives presented by the governor. We are seeing which ones have some support and which may be more quickly discarded. Short term alternatives include selling the tobacco funds settlement, not fully funding KPERS, and borrowing from the pooled money funds.
