In recent days, radio spots from the Kansas Chamber of Commerce have encouraged constituents in Rep. Steven Johnson’s 108th District to lobby him — no new taxes.

The request has resulted in two telephone calls of support and a third call from a business owner who told Johnson he’d rather pay income taxes than the additional property taxes that have resulted — and will continue to increase — if the Kansas Legislature doesn’t address the 2012-13 income tax cuts championed by Gov. Sam Brownback and conservative lawmakers.
