Public Hearing to Vacate Road in Wilson Township

NOTICE OF HEARING ON REQUEST
TO VACATE ROAD IN WILSON TOWNSHIP,
ELLSWORTH COUNTY
TO ALL PERSONS CONCERNED:
You are hereby notified that the Board of County Commissioners of Ellsworth County, Kansas, will, on May 30th, 2017, hold a public hearing to decide whether the following described road, located in Wilson Township, in Ellsworth County, Kansas, should be vacated pursuant to K.S.A. 68-101, et. seq.
The road in question is 4th Road running north and south as between the SE ¼ of Section 9 and the SW ¼ of Section 10 in Township 14 South and Range 10 West of the 6th P.M., with the portion of the road to be vacated being that portion of the road commencing 780 feet north from Avenue C and ending at the south boundary of Interstate 70.
The aforesaid public hearing will take place at 10:00 A.M. on May 30, 2017, or as soon thereafter as may be heard by the Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners. The place of hearing will be the Commissioners Room in the Ellsworth County Courthouse, 210 N. Kansas, Ellsworth, Kansas. Landowners and leaseholders of record on the lands adjoining the above-described roadway will be given Notice of this hearing by means of 1st Class Mail in addition to public notice, which will be given all other persons.
This hearing has been generated per the unanimous request of the Township Board of Wilson Township, Kansas, which opines that it would be in the public interest and public utility for the roadway to be closed.
