ORDINANCE NO. 3076 |
An ordinanCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING SECTIONS OF ORDINANCE NO. 3051 AND CHAPTER 13, WATER AND SEWER RATES OF THE CITY OF ELLSWORTH, KANSAS, FOR USERS INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE CITY LIMITS; PROVIDING FOR SNOW BIRD RATES, AND REPEALING ANY SECTION OF THE CITY CODE IN CONFLICT WITH THIS ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ELLSWORTH, KANSAS, that the following Sections of the Code of the City of Ellsworth, Kansas, be amended and supplemented to read as follows:
SECTION ONE. AMENDMENTS.
- Minimum Charge. The minimum monthly charge for all water meters within City limits, which includes payment for the first 2,000 gallons per month, will be based upon the size of the meter as follows:

- In addition, users with multiple dwelling units shall be charged a fee of six dollars and twenty cents ($6.20) per unit.
Section 13.12.070 (A) shall read as follows:
All bills delinquent after the tenth day of the month of the billing shall be subject to a penalty of $10.00 to the total bill.
Section 13.20.040 (C) shall read as follows:
- The minimum monthly cost for Sewer Service, which includes the first 2,000 gallons, shall be billed as:

Regardless of meter size, each additional thousand gallons of sewage per month shall be billed at the rate of $2.25 per thousand. The additional thousand gallons of sewage rate per thousand shall increase to 2017 -$2.70; 2018 - $3.24; and 2019 - $3.82

SECTION THREE. SNOW BIRD RATES.
Customers who only require service for certain months of the year shall be billed with snow bird rates for those months that the property is not requiring service. For months requiring service, standard rates shall apply. Snow bird rates shall be billed a flat monthly rate as follows:

SECTION FOUR. Repeal Any Conflicting Sections or Ordinances. Ordinance 2983, Ordinance 2984, and Ordinance 3051 and any other former ordinances and parts thereof, or parts of the Code of the City of Ellsworth, Kansas, that are in conflict with or inconsistent with the provisions of this ordinance, are hereby repealed.
SECTION FIVE. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect after its passage and publication in the Ellsworth County Independent Reporter, the official newspaper of the City of Ellsworth, Kansas, and said rates to be effective beginning the first full billing cycle after approval.
