PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
The City of Ellsworth will hold a public hearing on Monday, August 14, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 121 W. 1st St., Ellsworth, for the purpose of considering an application to be submitted to the Kansas Department of Commerce for Small Cities Community Development Grant funds under the Housing Category. A specific project application to be discussed is housing rehabilitation in a bounded area on the north from Gay Street and 15th Street east to Douglas Avenue, Douglas Avenue south to 8th Street, 8th Street east to Blake Street, Blake Street south to 2nd Street, 2nd Street west to Colorado Avenue, Colorado Avenue north to 8th Street, 8th Street west to Gay Street, and Gay Street north back to the point of beginning; and City wide demolition, all work within the Ellsworth City Limits. The project will consist of rehabilitation of 8 homes which may be occupied by owners or renters and demolition of 5 vacant dilapidated structures. The estimated project cost is $323,250 with the grant request for $300,000 of the project cost. The additional funds will come from local matching funds. Other project proposals introduced at the hearing will be considered. Oral and written comments will be recorded and become a part of the City of Ellsworth CDBG Citizen Participation Plan. Reasonable accommodations will be made available to persons with disabilities. Requests should be submitted to the City Clerk by noon on August 11, 2017.
