Members of the Ellsworth City Council approved a motion Monday night to move forward with a new city well field.

The roots of the motion go back to 2015, when the council authorized Karst Water Well Drilling Services to help identify water sources that could be developed into a well field for future production. Twenty-nine different sites were identified and test holes drilled by Karst.
