Lorraine welcomes return of popular nativity scene

LORRAINE — For longer than almost anyone here can remember, Joseph and Mary and Baby Jesus rested atop the local grain elevator and watched over Lorraine during the Christmas season.

Those were in the years when Larry Suiter was still alive and unafraid to work atop the almost 100 feet headhouse, where the nativity scene was stored, awaiting its annual holiday performance.
