Douglas G. Bach (1952-2018)

Douglas G. Bach, 66, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018 in Salina. He was born April 27, 1952 in Clay Center to Frank and Helen (Thorson) Bach.
Douglas was a longtime resident of Ellsworth where he worked for Cashco, Inc. for over 35 years, holding many positions, most recently as the technical writer. Douglas married Debby Loesch in Raymond Aug. 18, 1973.
Douglas was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he was very active, singing in the choir and serving as a Deacon, Elder, and chairman of many committees. He was a member of the JH Robbins Memorial Library board from 1987 to 1996, serving as president from 1990 to 1995, overseeing the completion of the library renovation and addition. He also served the Ellsworth County selective service for 20 years.
Douglas is survived by his wife, Debby of Ellsworth; daughters, Steffani Kohls (Matthew) of Manhattan, Marissa Schultz (Caleb) of Lorraine, and Janelle Robson (Kirk) of Ellsworth; son, Jacob Bach (Kerstie Dunlap) of Ellsworth; grandchildren, Alissa, Natalie, and Lucas Kohls, Jessa and Kiya Schultz, Brielle, Aleigh, and Callen Robson, and Kaiden and Scarlett Bach; mother, Helen Nesje of Ellsworth; step-mother, Eleanor Bach of Manhattan; sister, Dianna Vanek (Mike) of Kanopolis; brother, Jim Bach (Katy) of Manhattan; step-brothers, Mike Schaefer of Hoyt and Dan Schaefer (Gayle) of Kanopolis; step-sister, Ellen Roehrman (Rick) of Colorado; sister-in-law, Linda Bach of South Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank; grandson, Eli Robson; brother, Daniel Bach; and step-father, Clifford Nesje.
Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth, with family present from 6-8 p.m.
The funeral service is at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at First Presbyterian Church, Ellsworth with burial following at Ellsworth Memorial Cemetery.
