Fall harvest brings challenges to Ellsworth County farmers

With thunderstorms in the forecast and even more expected for the weekend, Dan Johnson spends Thursday afternoon trying to beat the rain that could likely start within the next 24 hours. A cool drizzle has been falling most the day, but it doesn’t deter Johnson as he plants winter wheat in the same fields where he harvested dryland corn just weeks ago.
