Mark Mehl

     Mark Mehl 63, of Lowell, Ind., passed away Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015.  
     Mark was born Sept. 14, 1952 in Ellsworth. He was a member of Lowell Southern Baptist Church and U.A.W. Local #551. He retired from the Ford Motor Plant in Chicago, Ill.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Margaret Mehl; parents- in-law, Isaac and Frances Campbell, brothers-in-law, Jerry and Buddy Campbell; and sisters-in-law, Mary Connor and Fern Campbell.
     He is survived by his wife, Letha; children, Eric and Amy, both at home; brother, Michael (Kathy) Mehl; brother-in-law, Steve (Barb) Campbell; sister- in-law, Judy Campbell; numerous nieces and nephews.
     Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Sheets Funeral Home, 604 E. Commercial Ave., Lowell, Ind.
     The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday Oct. 8, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lowell Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Donald Benton officiating.

MARQUETTE TRIBUNE - Ione Dauer

1932-2015

Ione Dauer, 82, of Salina, passed away Oct. 4, 2015.

She was born Nov. 27, 1932, the daughter of Walter and Blenda (Olson) Anderson in Assaria, Kan.

On Dec. 9, 1950, Ione was united in marriage to Earl Dauer at Salemsborg Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Stanley, Howard, and Vernal.

Ione leaves behind many loved ones including her husband, Earl of Salina; daughter, Sheryl Starr and husband Mike of Salina; sons, Norman Dauer and wife Donna of Lindsborg, David Dauer and wife Bernie of Falun, Chris Dauer and wife Tina of Falun; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., with family present from 6-7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Christians Funeral Home, Lindsborg.

Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Oct. 8, at Falun Cemetery, with a Celebration of Life at 11 a.m. at Falun Lutheran Church. Casual dress is suggested.

MARQUETTE TRIBUNE - Charlene G. Jimerson

     Charlene G. Jimerson, 60, of Marquette, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, at Riverview Estates in Marquette. She was the former activities director at Riverview Estates.
     Charlene was born on Feb. 14, 1955 in Great Bend, the daughter of Charles and Marilyn (Smiley) Lyons. Her family moved around a lot during her lifetime, and she lived in Kansas, Missouri, Indiana, and South Dakota. She graduated from Cheney High School in 1973. On March 23, 1974, she was united in marriage to Marty R. Jimerson in Stafford. This union was blessed with three children, Michael Dean, Mandy D. and Chad A. Jimerson.

Pastor Duane B. Johnson

(1940-2015)

Pastor Duane B. Johnson, 75, passed away Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, in Ellsworth. Survivors include his wife, Jeanne (Booth) Johnson of the home. Funeral was Monday, Sept. 28, at the First Baptist Church in Wilson, with internment in Wilson City Cemetery. Eugene 'Gene' Michael Garrett

     Eugene “Gene” Michael Garrett, 80, of Medicine Lodge, Kan. died Monday, Sept. 28, 2015 at his residence.
     He was born Nov. 19, 1934 in Dorrance, Kan., the son of Parvin A. Garrett and Mary S. (Driscoll) Garrett.  He married Lillian (Wanek) Garrett Jan. 30, 1957, in Ellsworth. She survives.
     Gene was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medicine Lodge. He was a fourth degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus and was the original founder of the Knights of Columbus in Medicine Lodge. Gene was a Boy Scout leader and a member of the Jaycees. He worked at Western Power Light as a lineman in Ellsworth, and worked at the Central Electric Substation when he moved to Medicine Lodge. Gene ran the VIP Supper Club in Alva, Okla. from 1988-2000.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1957-59.
     Gene was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Steven Garrett.
