Emily Seiwert, of Great Bend, and Mark Kennedy, of Ellsworth, received the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony May 26, 2018 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Claflin. Fr. Daniel Scheetz received their vows.

Emily is the daughter of Bernie and Lisa Seiwert of Great Bend. Her grandmother is Pat Gerstenkorn of Great Bend.

Mark is the son of Kevin and Barb Kennedy of Ellsworth. His grandparents are Robert and Shirley Kennedy of Bella Vista, Ark.

Jill Holtkamp, the groom’s sister, was the cantor. Preston Sauers was the organist. Adam Seiwert, the bride’s cousin, was the lector.

Hannah Degenhardt served as her sister’s Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids were Nina Burton, Nicole Reiter, Morgan Hoffman, Lexie Brack, and Kaitlee Spray.

Brandon Rohr was the Best Man. Groomsmen were Tyler Bailey, Lucas Short, Jeremy Kootz, Ron Tenbrink, and Brad Barta. Ushers were Nicholas Mull, Brad Werner, Blake Nelson, and Torrey Elder.

Mark and Nikki Cunningham of Ellsworth are proud to announce the birth of their son, Easton John Cunningham.

He was born July 24, 2018 at Salina Regional Health Center. He weighed 9 pounds and was 20 inches long.

Maternal grandparents are John and Rita Whitmer of Ellsworth.

Paternal grandparent is Malinda Cunningham, Ellsworth.

Maternal great-grandparents are Ron and JoAnn Whitmer and paternal great-grandparent is Marlene Wiles, Lincoln.

Card shower for Elsie Hunter’s 90th birthday

The family of Elsie (Bruning) Hunter invite you to participate in a card shower in celebration of her 90th birthday. Elsie was born Oct. 5, 1928, to Reinhold and Anna Bruning in Ellsworth County. She married Errol D. Hunter Jan. 18, 1948. There were married 60 years until his passing in 2008. Her family includes children, Alan (Karen) Hunter of Lincoln, Linda (Brett) Siemsen of Ellsworth, Gale Hunter of Black Wolf and Karen Paden of Ellsworth. A birthday celebration will be from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the meeting room of the Research Center at the Hodgden House Museum. Ryan and Tiffany Parsons of Ellsworth are proud to announce the birth of their son, Mattix Reid.

Mattix was born June 11, 2018, at Salina Regional Health Center. He weighed 7 pounds and 11 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long.

He was welcomed home by siblings Callen and Beckett Parsons.

Maternal grandparents are Tonya Wise and Bryan Thom. Paternal grandparents are Mark and Lisa Parsons.

Card Shower for Zona Homeier's 95th birthday

The family of Zona (McReynolds) Homeier invite you to participate in a card shower in celebration of her 95th birthday. Cards may be sent to Zona in care of Good Samaritan Ellsworth Village, 1156 Highway 14, Ellsworth, Kan. 67439.

Mrs. Homeier was born Sept. 1, 1923, to Harry and Guela McReynolds in Osborne County. Zona is the oldest of seven children. She married Fred Homeier April 26, 1943 and were married 55 years until Fred's passing in October, 1998.

Her family includes children, Richard (Cathy) Homeier of Fort Collins, Colo., Raymond (MaryAnn) Homeier of Wilson, Dale (Carmen) Homeier of Wilson, LaNita ( Jim) Pratt of Salina, and Susan Homeier of Ellsworth. Zona has 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Siemsens celebrating 60 years

The children of Patsy and Harold Siemsen of Holyrood invite you to help celebrate the Siemsens 60th wedding anniversary.

The celebration will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, at the St. Paul United Church of Christ at Holyrood.

The Siemsens were married Sept. 1, 1958, in Miami, Okla. They returned to Holyrood 15 years ago and live on the farm where Harold grew up.

Their children are Karen Kratzer of Geneseo and Brett Siemsen of Ellsworth. They also have five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The Siemsens request no gifts.

Andrews/Adams family reunion

For more than 95 years, the families of the late John and Estella (Andrews) Adams (Lyons, Kan.) and Harry R. and Nellie Andrews (rural Ellsworth, Kan.) have gathered.

Family members came together for the 2018 reunion July 26-29 at the Air Capital City of Wichita, Kan. Dixie Voss Anders, Hoxie, Kan., was in charge of arrangements.

Mari Tucker organized a luncheon and 90th birthday celebration Friday, July 27, for her mother, Betty (Voss) Deutscher, at the River City Brewery in Wichita. Sean (Voss) Anders and his guitar provided entertainment. Ralph Voss encouraged the cousins to join him in the Voss family adaptation of Irene Adams Voss’ song, “Goodnight Irene.” Three generations of the family shared memories and family stories.
