I would like to congratulate all of the Midway- Ellsworth 4-H members on the hard work they put into the exhibits that were showcased at the fair. I would like to congratulate all of the Midway- Ellsworth 4-H members on the hard work they put into the exhibits that were showcased at the fair. The exhibit building was full of By Owen Howard Gray was born at 5:51 a.m. July 15, 2015, to Guy Gray and Brittany Shearer, Geneseo.  e was 8 lbs., 3ozs. and 21 inches long. Grandparents are Jim Gray and Vernon and Lesa Plinske, all of Geneseo. Great-grandparents areShirley White, Geneseo, and Harold and Martha  Shearer, Scandia.

The exhibit building was full of By By JAMIE RATHBUN Extension Focus Canning can be a safe and economical way to preserve quality food at home. Home-preserved foods can help provide a variety of nutritious meals for your family all year long.To learn more about home canning methods plan to attend a hands-on workshop focused on food preservation. Adult workshop: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, cost $20; Youth workshop: 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, cost $10. Both workshops to be held at the Russell 4-H Building.

Sonic ‘campers’ win free food

I would like to congratulate all of the Midway- Ellsworth 4-H members on the hard work they put into the exhibits that were showcased at the fair. The exhibit building was full of By By Alan RuschEllsworth County I-REllsworth’s Melissa Rives was the first of 15 locals to win a coupon book good for one free cheeseburger combo meal a week for a year from Sonic Drivein. All they had to do to claim their prize was camp overnight in one of the 15 interactive stalls at the new Ellsworth Sonic. “I’m a big ‘Black Friday’ shopper,so this is nothing,” Rives said. “I  love it.”The promotion was part of the drive-in’s July 22 local grand opening. Rives had been parked in Stall 1 since 7:30 the night before. “I think it’s awesome,” she said. “I love all their food.” Ten stalls down from Rives, T.J.Renard of Kanopolis waited patiently to claim his coupon
