William ‘Bill’ Edward Roth, 84, of Salina, Kan., passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018.
Bill was born in Holyrood, Kan. Nov. 7, 1934, a son of the late Hazel (Becker) and William Andrew Roth.
He worked as a soil scientist for the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service for 40 years. Throughout that time he provided service in Dodge City, Kinsley, Larned, and Salina. His work even took him to Parkersburg, W.Va.; Lincoln, Neb.; and Washington D.C. His many years of service made him to be known as the “best soil scientist in Kansas.”
Bill married Deniece (Kohls) Sept. 2, 1956. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Amy Swann (Larry), of Charleston, W.Va. and Sara Rowe (Merle), of Abilene; a son, Thomas Roth (Terri) of Clay Center; sisters, Shirley Colby of Melborne, Fla., Mary Jeffrey of Marion, and Elizabeth Adams of Newton; and a brother, Robert Roth of Great Bend.
