CHARTER ORDINANCE # 10

A CHARTER ORDINANCE EXEMPTING THE CITY
OF KANOPOLIS, KANSAS, FROM THE PROVISIONS
OF K.S.A. 15-201, RELATING TO THE ELECTION
OF OFFICERS, THEIR TERMS OF OFFICE, TRANSITIONS TO NOVEMBER ELECTIONS, THE FILLING OF GOVERNING BODY VACANCIES; AND, PROVIDING SUBSTITUTE
AND ADDITIONAL PROVISIONS ON THE SAME
SUBJECT; AND REPEALING CHARTER ORDINANCE
NO. 2.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF KANOPOLIS, KANSAS:
Section 1. The City of Kanopolis, Kansas, by the power vested in it by Article 12, Section 5 of the Kansas Constitution hereby elects to and does exempt itself and make inapplicable to it the provisions of K.S.A. 15-201, which applies to this city, but is part of an enactment which does not apply uniformly to all cities.

City of Wilson Final Performance Public Hearing Notice

FINAL PERFORMANCE PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

The City of Wilson will hold a public hearing on February 1, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Wilson City Hall located at 2407 Ave E, Wilson, Kansas, for the purpose of evaluating the performance of Grant No. 13-HR-005, which was for the rehabilitation of 12 homes and the demolition of 1 dilapidated residential structure.  The Grant achieved the rehabilitation of 14 homes and the demolition of 4 dilapidated residential structures.
This grant was funded, all or in part, from the Kansas Department of Commerce, Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds.  All aspects of the grant will be discussed and oral and written comments will be recorded and become a part of the City of Wilson Citizen Participation Plan.

MEDICAL SCHOLARSHIP TRUST FUND

This trust fund provides substantial scholarships for students who are legal residents of Ellsworth County in any field of human medicine that is licensed by the State of Kansas. These include, but are not limited to, the following:
a. Doctors, dentists, nurses, medical technicians and optometrists.
b. Support fields, which include medical research.
c. Emergency Medical Technicians and paramedical services.

Applications must be submitted to the Citizens State Bank & Trust Co., Trust Department, P.O. Box 128, Ellsworth, KS 67439-0128 by April 1, 2016. Recipients will be advised of this award by May 1, 2016. The Scholarship Committee may request a personal interview and/or financial information before selection is completed.

A CHARTER ORDINANCE AMENDING CHARTER
ORDINANCE NO. 1-85 RELATING TO THE ELECTION AND APPOINTMENT OF CITY OFFICERS AND TERMS
OF OFFICERS AND TRANSITIONING THE TERMS
OF OFFICE FOR THE GOVERNING BODY

WHEREAS, the Kansas Legislature passed L. 2015, ch.88, sec. 7 (H.B. 2104) which provides in part that all general elections for members of the governing body and other elected officials of any municipality shall be held in November and this conflicts with Wilson City Charter Ordinance No 1-85, so that the City's Charter Ordinance on the month of elections and providing for transitional terms for those offices should be established.
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF WILSON, KANSAS:
