Whether it is preparing lesson plans for the next day’s classes, sponsoring any one of the countless extra-curricular activities provided to students, or simply grading papers — it is easy to imagine how time seems to have simply flown by for the Ellsworth- Kanopolis-Geneseo School District teachers and staff who will retire after the 2015-16 school year draws to its close.

BY Mark McCoy
Ellsworth County I-R

The cost of breakfast and lunch will increase throughout the Ellsworth-Kanopolis-Geneseo School District in the 2016-17 school year. The board approved the increase recommended by district superintendent Dale Brungardt Monday at its meeting in the district office at Ellsworth. “We receive some funding from the feds for school lunches and they want all schools eventually to get to a targeted price per meal,” Brungardt said. “The least we can increase prices is 10 cents per meal. I think that we should raise the lunch price 15 cents per meal.”
