Thanksgiving Day marks the start of the Christmas holiday season — traditionally known as the season of giving. In that spirit, the Independent-Reporter visited food banks in Ellsworth County to update our readers on their status. Here is what we found:

The Ellsworth-Kanopolis-Geneseo School Board tackled athletic uniform replacement at Monday’s meeting at the district office in Ellsworth. Ellsworth Junior/Senior High School principal and former athletic director Ken Winhold submitted a plan from current athletic director Ron Davis Jr. to rotate uniform replacements — much like the board’s five-year capital outlay plan.
