CLAFLIN --- The second-ranked 2A Central Plains Oilers were far too powerful for the Goessel, rolling to a 50-0 win in Claflin.

 

The Oilers will play Kiowa County in the first round of the 8-man Division I playoffs at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3 in Claflin.

MOUNDRIDGE — The top-ranked and undefeated Lady Oilers of Central Plains will be returning to the 2A State volleyball tournament after winning the Moundridge sub-State tournament Saturday in Moundridge. The Lady Oilers finished third last season at the 2014 State tournament.

SOLOMON --- In the battle of the second and third-ranked 2A teams in the state, the Central Plains Oilers were far too powerful for the Gorillas of Solomon, smashing their way to a convincing 46-14 win in Solomon.

ELLSWORTH -- The undefeated Cardinals added a 46-0 win over the Bearcats Friday in Ellsworth in the first 3A District 15 game of the season.

 

The Lions of Lyons eked by Sterling 28-24 in the other District 15 game.

Lady Bearcats place third

WICHITA — The Lady Bearcat tennis team placed third at the 3A-2A-1A regional tournament Friday and Saturday in Wichita, qualifying three members of the team, Gentry Hawks, Kelsea Kraus and Emmy Kempke, to play at State for the sixth consecutive season. Hesston won the team scoring with 24 points.

GREENSBURG — The Central Plains Lady Oiler tennis team placed fourth at the Kiowa regional and qualified Keeley Hipp, Janae Ryan and Kaylyn Oberle for the State tournament. Senior singles player Kaylyn Oberle qualified in the singles field after placing fifth. She rolled through her first match, beating South Barber 6-0, 6-0.
